
The head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, led the second meeting of the council with the authorities of the 16 boroughs of the capital on Monday. During the meeting, topics such as security, urban planning, and cooperation among various state agencies were addressed. Brugada reiterated the importance of discussing the participatory budget for 2026 this year to allocate more funds to projects in neighborhoods and communities.
The mayor of Tlalpan, Gabriela Osorio, highlighted the coordination promoted by Brugada and mentioned that aspects related to security, the pothole plan, and the social program "Casa por Casa" were discussed. For his part, the Secretary of Government, César Cravioto, emphasized on social media the collaboration to achieve a peaceful environment in the capital.
During the meeting, held at the old City Hall, progress in different everyday areas such as the organization and recovery of public space, metropolitan coordination, and addressing the causes of insecurity were evaluated. The borough also highlighted the collaboration between different levels of state government to ensure tranquility in Mexico City.
In a discreet act, the mayors of CDMX met at the old City Hall to discuss common challenges and the upcoming agendas for the year 2025. Opposition mayors were also present at the meeting. Javier López Casarín, mayor of Álvaro Obregón, praised Brugada's leadership and the coordination among the boroughs.
For example, Mauricio Tabe, mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, shared that the meeting addressed coordination to improve security and make joint efforts to eliminate potholes throughout the City.
